Morningside Road is 2 minutes' walk away with a wide and interesting collection of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, a Waitrose supermarket just around the corner and a Marks and Spencer's Food-hall 5 minutes' walk away. Morningside Road is serviced by many bus routes running into the City Centre's New and Old Towns. With the volume of buses, any wait should be no longer than 10 minutes. The bus stops are also fitted with tracking screens which display the time to arrival of each bus number. For guests with small children, there is a play park just along the street next to the Primary School.

Morningside is predominantly a residential area with an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, library, a theatre and a 1930's Art Deco cinema.
