This city centre hostel provides cost effective and comfortable accommodation in an excellent central Edinburgh location.
Mixed-sex and female only dormitory rooms, as well as private rooms are available. Where availability allows, the entire property can be rented, providing private self-catering accommodation for up to 95 guests.

The hostel spans two floors of a traditional Victorian building and many rooms retain period features in their cornicing, high ceilings and large windows.

About the location (West End, Edinburgh)
Located directly opposite Haymarket Train Station in the West End, the hostel is only a 15 minute walk to the West End of Princes Street. We are also opposite the city's busiest bus and tram interchange so you will have no problems transporting yourself in and out of the neighbourhood. Buses and trams to and from the airport all stop at Haymarket station.
Edinburgh Castle and the famous Royal Mile are a must see and are easily accessible on foot or by public transport. Right on our doorstep we have the wonderful St Mary's Cathedral, a popular tourist landmark. An easy 15 - 20 minute stroll is the infamous Grassmarket area & there are a range of bars and restaurants within 100 metres of The Hostel.
Children under 18 are not permitted in the dorm rooms. Anyone booking children into one of our dorm rooms will not be allowed to stay and will be required to find themselves alternative accommodation.
ALL guests checking into the hostel must have photographic ID with them in the form of passport, driving license etc. Unfortunately check in will not be permitted unless photo ID is provided.
No pets are permitted in the hostel
We do not have lift access in the hostel and all rooms are accessible by stairs only

Check in is from 2pm and check out is 11am. Luggage can be left with us outside these times.
Any guests arriving after 11pm will be required to pay a 5 GBP late arrival fee to the member of night staff. Please note this is a one off fee of 5 GBP and not 5 GBP per person.
The female dorm is only available for booking by females. If a male reserves this room your booking will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded. All other dorms are mixed sex.
* Triple rooms consist of lower double bed and upper single bed. * Family room consists of 3 single bunks and 1 lower double bunk.
Due to the high demand for accommodation in Edinburgh over New Year, guests will be asked to settle 50% of their total amount, which is non-refundable, one month prior to arrival when booked into the hostel between:
29 December - 2 January (Inclusive)
If cancelling for these dates we require no less than 2 weeks notice for there to be no further charges made to your credit card. Cancelling within 2 weeks of your arrival date will see the total remaining balance of your bill charged to the credit card details provided to us with your booking.

Cancellations must be received by 2pm, 2 days prior to your arrival date to prevent any penalty fees being charged to your credit card. If you have booked with an agent online or in person, any deposit made to them is non-refundable unless this has been previously arranged with them. Cancelling a booking within 2 days of the arrival date or failure to arrive at the hostel on your booked day of arrival will see the equivalent of one nights room rate charged to the credit card details provided to us with the booking and your booking will be cancelled for any further nights you have booked.
Group Bookings Please note that if you are a group of 8 or more people you will be asked to pay the remaining balance as a group (not individually) and leave a 20.00 GBP security bond per person on arrival. This bond will be returned on departure once the room/s have been checked by a staff member. Please note that you should allow time for your room to be checked on departure as this can take up to 15 minutes, if you fail to leave time for your room/s to be inspected bonds will not be returned. If we require any damages to be inspected by the owner, bonds will be kept and returned to you at a later date once a price has been determined for the damage. Disturbing other residents will also result in a penalty charge, the amount will be determined on a case by case basis. Upon arrival at the hostel your group will be asked to read through an introduction letter which lists damages and penalty charges as a guide only, the hostel reserves the right to change these at any time without warning.
Cancelling group bookings - If you are a party of 8 or more people our standard group cancellation policy applies. Cancellations must be made no later than 2 weeks prior to arrival or 1 nights cancellation charge applies for the entire group cost.
On street parking is available in pay and display bays which are payable between the hours of 0830 and 1830hrs Monday to Saturday. Parking is free overnight and on Sundays only. We do not have private parking at the hostel. There is also a 24 hour NCP Car Park nearby on Castle Terrace.
