About the location (Old Town, Edinburgh)
The Royal Mile area is home to the Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament amongst many other excellent visitor attractions. There are also many of the principle venues close at hand, Queen's Hall, Festival Theatre, Usher Hall, Traverse Theatre and the Playhouse. You will of course be spoilt for choice for excellent bars and restaurants. The high street shops are within walking distance, many of which are on Princes Street, as are many of the fashionable boutiques which are on George Street, and last but not least Harvey Nicols and Jenners are also within walking distance. Just a short walk from the superb green space, Arthur's Seat, which is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a quiet picnic spot.
