Great location, questionable service

We stayed here with another family over the festival. It is a beautiful flat in a stunning location right next to the castle with fantastic views over Princes Street Gardens. The general decor and furniture is lovely. I called the week before our stay to ask if we could get a food delivery as I know the top of the Royal Mile is closed for the Military Tattoo but the lady who caretakes the place slightly cut me short and made it very clear that SHE would not accept delivery of OUR food which wasn't the point of the question! However, when we arrived the lady was there and seemed helpful and friendly. I was a little bit disappointed in the amenities provided. We stay in a lot of top end properties and have let our own London property out in days gone by. There was no welcome basket as is often the case with such places, there weren't any J cloths, we also noticed a lot of the cups and plates etc had cracks and chips. To top it off, we sat down in the dining room for the first time and my 4 year old sat down on one of the chairs which promptly fell apart. It had clearly been strategically put back together by the last tenants (or somebody). Luckily she wasn't hurt. I emailed the caretaker lady to let her know but never heard back.

Beautiful apartment, superb location

This apartment is an absolute gem. I would describe it as a 'grown up' place to stay, I can't see children there particularly, but for an adult group up for the Fringe it was perfect. Beautifully appointed, everything you can want, central location yet so quite, we never heard another person (just the Tattoo). We would love to stay there again and it would perfectly suit anyone wishing to explore Edinburgh at any time.
