Right in the center of the action

You should know right from the start that this apartment is really a dorm room of the University of Edinburgh, and as such it is somewhat spartan - but totally satisfactory. School is out and the rooms are rented to travelers of all ages and nationalities. The location couldn't be better, it is in Old Town and right in the center of Festival action. There are tons of cafes and restaurants nearby, there are laundry facilities on-site, and the persons at the front desk are friendly and exceedingly helpful.

Excellent accommodation for the fringe!

10 of us stayed at 5 studio apartments in Sugar House Close for 5 nights in the middle of August - for the second year running. They were clean, the location was perfect for the centre of town and all the Edinburgh Fringe venues and the service both from the staff at the accommodation and the people on the phones was excellent.

Fringe accommodation

We were a group of 16 people who rented 8 large studios, the purpose of our trip was to visit the Fringe and Book festival. The location was perfect with numerous breakfast venues on our doorstep where we could all meet up. It was perfect for Fringe activities and getting to all venues, we could walk to everywhere and we did an awful lot of walking each day.. It was great that there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a small kitchenette if anybody wanted toast or breakfast in their room.
Staff were excellent providing extra hangars and better pillows as originals were too thin for me. They also booked numerous taxis for our party and were very efficient and friendly. They kept the rooms nice and clean.
My only suggestion would be to provide a hairdryer and freestanding mirror as there are no plug sockets by the mirror on the wall. We need the facility to do hair and makeup whilst sitting at the desk.
We had a marvellous week and would definitely use these facilities again. Thank you

Fringe visit

Stayed as a couple visiting the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time. The accommodation was ideally placed as within walking distance for all the main Fringe attractions. Considering its primary purpose is student accommodation we found the room to be spacious and well equipped. My only gripe is the double bed which we found to be a bit small and is located up against a wall. Would happily stay there again if revisiting the Fringe.

The studio has everything we needed for a short stay. We came for a meal at the Kitchin at Leith for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and had the bonus of the Fringe The room was comfortable with a shower, kitchenette and fridge . Just off the Royal Mile the location is excellent. Would stay there again

A good find for accessibility needs

I chose this room for my disabled brother who comes to visit us in Edinburgh for the Fringe, and for his needs it was perfect. He has stayed in accessible students accommodation 3 yrs in a row now. The location is perfect, the staff are kind and helpful, and for my brother's accessibiity needs it works really well. I have only marked it down as the room this year was a bit tatty - one curtain was half falling down, and the walls needed a lick of paint. But overall it served our needs well and is a reasonable price for Fringe accommodation.

A great base camp for the fringe

These rooms are part of the university accomodation so we weren't quite sure what to expect, however, we were delighted with the room.
There was plenty of space, it was clean and had a large bed. The kitchenette is small but functional and included a microwave, two jobs, kettle, toaster, fridge and all utensils and cutlery. It's enough to cook something basic however it would have been great to have a little more counter space. The shower was clean and worked well.
The location is superb and is only about a 10 minute walk from the royal mile and minutes away from holyrood park.
Towels were provided. Check in was 3pm and check out was 10am.
The staff were polite, friendly, helpful. We would be happy to return next year.
