Excellent for a large group and fringe performers

I have used this accommodation for two years now during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as accommodation for my choir, and it has offered a great communal space very near to all venues and the royal mile. Great value for money, especially during such a busy period.

Our stay for the fringe

I thought the accommodation was excellent for our stay of 10 people. The ensuite bedroom was clean and comfortable. Even had travel sized shower gel, shampoo and conditioner! Nice airy large kitchen with seating where we could all assemble for breakfast and social gatherings. Worth the extra few minutes walk away from the centre.

Excellent base for a larger group

We were a mature group of visitors to the fringe, impressed with the location, facilities and friendly welcome. The kitchen gets a little over heated when using the hob and the three quarter beds are not ideal for bigger visitors. We will however look to stay again in future as there were so many plusses.

Great spot for the festival

Travelled with colleagues to the Fringe. The student flats are the perfect base. Although there were some initial issues locating our booking this was resolved very quickly, most impressed given there were 10 of us.
Ideal en suite rooms with a communal kitchen giving each of us privacy. The accommodation is clean and secure. Slightly out of town but still an easy walk to the various venues. Would be slightly cramped for two people.
This was our second time staying here and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for our needs

After a harrowing booking (where we were originally booked at Sugarhouse Close and did not know we were switched to Salisbury Court until a week before our arrival!) we were pleased with our accommodations. In fact, we realized that the location was more centrally located to the Fringe venues in George Square where we attended most.
We did have some trouble with our key cards upon arrival. About 1/3 of our 20 rooms needed the door batteries to be replaced. This made check in a bit stressful after a long flight.
We rented 2 blocks of 10 rooms: 312 and 313. Half of the rooms in 313 faced the courtyard while the other faced the outside of the building with fairly nice views. The courtyard side rooms were NOT good if one wanted to sleep with the window open for fresh air. Other guests arriving back at the flats late at night were often noisy in the echoy courtyard. Even casual conversations were amplified in the courtyard.
On the other hand, ALL of the rooms in the 312 block had exterior views including the corner kitchen which, might I say, had THE BEST VIEW OF ARTHUR'S SEAT of any accommodation I have ever had in my 10 trips to the Fringe. It was postcard worthy! I was just sad that there was so much of a difference between one set of flats compared to the other.
The staff were always helpful and attentive and the common rooms were large enough for company meetings without encroaching on other guests.
So, aside from the miscommunicated switch of locations, this location actually served us better than Sugarhouse Close. We would definitely look to book it again.

What a find! We had a room for 10. Everyone had their own room and a great communal area. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks
