We needed a place to explore Edinburgh from over the New Year period and Richards apartment was perfect. Great location and good communication from the host. Had everything we needed.

Great place & location but dampened by communication issues

The place was as advertised, and was clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils (and basic cooking supplies!). The WiFi connection speeds were initially poor, but after we reset the router they were passable. It was nice to have a lot of sofa space too (although the cushions kept falling off the sofa bed when it was used as a sofa). The place felt spacious enough with four people, as we all had our own spaces on a rainy day.
Location was exceptional - <10 mins walk to Holyrood Park and <5 mins to the bottom of the Royal Mile! Couldn’t have asked for more in the location department, irrespective of price.
The bedrooms were very comfortable, and had ample storage space too. From one of the double rooms you could see Arthur’s seat which was a nice bonus!
Communication with the owner was a bit of an issue. We had to email specifically on the first day to find out the key safe access code (although this was given promptly). It would have been useful to have more structured communication initiated by the owner upon moving in and out ; an info pack in the probably would also have been useful (with info on the electricity, wifi, kitchen etc…). Unfortunately, on our last weekend, the gas supply cut out and we struggled to get in touch with the owner to resolve this issue, which put a bit of a dampener on what was otherwise a very lovely stay.

Perfectly cozy home in a great location

Wonderful location and extremely cozy home. This was my first time using Edlets and everything was perfect- clean home in the perfect location right at the foot of the Royal Mile. The bathrooms are clean and the shower downstairs was perfect for my grandmother who cannot step up into the full tub upstairs. Beds were clean and comfortable, kitchen spacious enough and fully stocked to prep a few dinners and breakfasts during our week long stay. Richard was extremely helpful and always just a message away if we required any help. Neighborhood is quiet which is a nice escape from the crowds on the royal mile just a short walk away. Would definitely stay here again!

Good location

We visited Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival with our two teenage children and found the accommodation easily from the directions given. The location to the centre of Edinburgh was superb, directly opposite Holyrood palace and an easy 15 minute walk to the Royal Mile.
The accommodation was clean, basic and functional and value for money. As we spent very little time in the accommodation it suited our short visit very well.
It would have been useful to have an information pack regarding location of convenience store, pharmacy, nearest GP etc as nothing was provided. The wifi code is located on the back of the router!
We had to contact the host a few times before obtaining the access code but he was very amenable.

Great location but dingy and dirty

Wonderful location across street from Holyrood. Communication from owner was terrible Finally got the key box code and there was no info on where to park or wifi or welcome info with phone etc. the place is cute but needs some attention like light bulbs out and sponges out and dirty pillowcases and not sure if linens were clean as we found a puzzle piece in the bed and found durex in the drawer -gross and the front plants need to be trimmed. Just needs some TLC to be acceptable

I was truly sorry to hear about the unpleasant discovery in one of the drawers,I was not told at the time August is a busy time with many change overs and short turnaround times; the cleaners have been asked to check the many drawers in the house.I note that the cleaning in the rest of the house was acknowledged as being to standard
The carpark is directly opposite the house in eyeline with the door. All wifi details are printed on the router There was one lamp fitting which had developed a fault since the last tenants but there were three other lamps in the room Fresh sponges are supplied in the cupboard under the sink All linen is freshly laundered , one pillowcase had a permanent mark on it in a corner and was replaced on the first day when I came down to spend twenty minutes with the guests. A small puzzle piece had obviously lodged in the mattress or bed base and become dislodged on cleaning the room The grass cannot be cut until its dry and it had been raining and damp for days prior to arrival- the lawn was done the day after arrival All whitework had been redone in the house a month earlier and all walls have now been refreshed with new paint

Myself and 4 friends travelled to Edinburgh to experience Hogmanay and enjoy a few days exploring the city. We found Abbeyhill Crescent after many hours searching online and it fitted what we were after. The only thing that put me off was that all the photos were taken with the curtains shut -
Our host, Richard, messaged with the location of the keys the day before we were due to arrive and when we arrived they were where they were meant to be. Please don't judge the area on the outside of the houses - they look a tad worn down and in need of a clean but we were pleasantly surprised when we went in.
The house was warm and clean-ish; although had a slight musty smell that went away after we bleached things and opened windows for half hour. It was nicely decorated with wooden flooring, some of it is slightly dated but in honesty - who cares when you're only there for a few days. One thing I will say was the sofa was super annoying - the seat cushions kept shuffling down and falling off so every 10 mins you had to stand up and put them back. One of the girls had a slightly uncomfortable bed and you could feel the springs but everyone else was more than comfortable. The showers were both good, especially the one downstairs which was amazing! The kitchen was more than well equipped with everything we needed and more.
The house is a two minute walk to the bottom of the Royal Mile, it's location is perfect and for the price we paid we couldn't have got any better! It's a 10 minute walk to the beginning of the walks to Arthur's Seat and various other climby walks you can do - I would thoroughly recommend doing this as the views from the top are breath taking!
Overall the accommodation was great, Richard was on hand to answer any of our questions and we would definitely stay there again! :)
